Austropotamobius pallipes is commonly called White-clawed Crayfish or Atlantic Stream Crayfish. It’s a shellfish that lives in the freshwater of rivers, lakes and ponds of Europe, from the Balkan Peninsula throughout Great Britain and Ireland and across Spain. It often moves backwards. Its shell is an olive-brown color, with pale colored undersides to the claws. Its size ranges from 5 –12 cm long.
