Littorina littorea is also called Periwinkle. It has a beautiful spiral shell; that’s why it’s nicknamed “sea snail.” It was already eaten 15,000 years ago. Its flesh is soft, delicate and delicious, rich in vitamin B and minerals.

How to buy

Choose Winkles that are still living: their shell has to be well closed, or they must refold when you touch them. They also must release a pleasant smell.
