Watermelon

Know your product

Watermelon is really imposing due to its weight, up to 35 kg, and its diameter, up to 60 cm. Its skin is very thick, green, and with dark green stripes. It’s the fruit containing the most water (93 %), so it is appreciated in warm regions and in the summer. Its sweet and refreshing flesh is enjoyed by sportsmen.
Funny fact: Japanese people grow watermelons in jars to give the fruit a cubic shape.

Choose watermelons with a well-rounded, symmetric shape, and yellowish poles. The heavier, the ripest it is. The fruit has to sound hollow when you bang on its skin.

how to keep

You can keep watermelons at room temperature for 7–10 days. Once cut, wrap the sections of watermelon in plastic film, then place them in the fridge for up to 4 days.
