Lardons are small pieces of cured pork meat similar to bacon, which are smoked or salted. The stick variety is the prepared in the same way but without the fat.
Either as Bacon slices or as sticks, both are used to accommodate many dishes: pastas, pies, salads and meat. They are usually cooked in a frying pan and with oil.
