Onion is one of the oldest vegetables; it was used already 5,000 years ago. Christopher Columbus brought it from the Americas to the Old World in 1493. It can be eaten raw or as a condiment to many cold or warm recipes.

Our range of Onions includes many different varieties: White, Red or Yellow Onions, Roscoff Onions (Protected designation of origin), Pearl Onions, Cevennes Onions (Protected designation of origin) and our organic varieties.

How to buy

Keep your Onions in a cool dry place and in the shade for several months. At room temperature, it can be kept up to 3 weeks.

Choose small and firm Onions, with a smooth, dry and breakable peel. Avoid dark spots, mold, or seeding.

Tips

The chemical reaction that makes one cry when cutting an Onion occurs when it is at room temperature. To avoid crying, it is better to warm or to cool the Onion.
