The word "cranberry" comes from the shape of the fruit, similar to the crane of a bird. Cranberry juice is popular in specific parts of the globe, especially in English speaking countries. This berry originates from North America and is much appreciated in pastries and muffins.
Visually close to a small cherry, cranberry is highly acidic, therefore it is common to cook it before eating.

How to buy

Choose cranberries with a thick pulp. The skin must be smooth, thick, and without spots.

how to keep

Very fragile: keep your cranberries in the fridge for a few days only. You can also freeze them for up to a few weeks.

Tips

Cook your cranberries in a trickle of water over a low heat and covered. Caution: just like corn, cranberries can pop while cooking and the juice stains.
