Leek comes from Central Asia. Egyptians and Ancient Romans ate it. The legend tells of the Roman emperor Nero who ate a lot of Leeks to clear up his voice. Very rich in vitamin K and an important source of folic acid, vitamin C, iron and magnesium, Leek has a delicate, slightly sweet and subtle flavor.

Choose firm Leeks, with crunchy stalks and lighter splotches of color.

how to keep

You can keep Leeks in a plastic bag for up to 2 weeks.

Tips

When Leek leaves are faded or dry, you can wash, spin and cut them in very small pieces with a mixer. If you put the mixture in a bag into the freezer, you can use it as seasoning, especially recommended with veal, pork and any hot vegetable.
