Squid

Know your product

The scientific name of squid or Calamari is Loligo vulgaris. It was already born millions of years ago, during the Jurassic Period. Its size is variable, growing from a few cms up to 10 meters long; edible Squid reaches 40 cm long. From its coated, cylindrical body, extend long tentacles with suction cups. When it’s attacked, it ejects a blackish liquid on its opponent. This liquid, the ink, is also edible, and is even used as paint.
The Squid’s flesh is white and thin, and is especially delicious for being firm and soft at the same time. It’s rich in protein, vitamins A, B6 and B12, phosphorous, and calcium.

Our range includes fresh and whole Squids, small or large. We also supply tentacles, rings or slivers.
