Lepidopus caudatus is commonly called Silver Saber, Silver Scabbardfish, Beltfish or even Frostfish. Its name comes from its unusual sword-shaped body, which is very thin and extremely elongated and grows up to 2 meters long. Its head is impressive and features big fangs up to 20 mm. It mainly lives in the Mediterranean Sea, the Southeast Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, as well as the South Pacific.
Silver Saber’s flesh is firm, very white with nuances of pink. It’s rich in phosphorous, vitamins A and B. It releases delicate flavors.

Choose Silver Sabers with a shiny skin, bright eyes and firm flesh. Handle it cautiously; its fangs are really sharp.
