Epiniephelus or Cephalopholis are also called Grouper. They have an oval body and a pointed head. Its mouth is large and its lower jaw prominent. It frequents the rocky floors of the seabed, and lives up to 50 years old. It is born female, then becomes male around 10 years old. Grouper’s flesh is delicate, white and firm, tasty and delicious. It’s a lean fish, rich in iron, phosphorous and vitamin B2. It also contains complete protein and omega-3.

Our range of Groupers includes several species for you to choose from:
- Yellow Grouper, which lives in open seas and coral reefs. It mainly comes from Mauritania, Senegal or Oman
- Red Grouper, yellowish or red colored with white splotches, from India or Oman
- White Grouper, grayish in color with whitish stripes, appreciated in Senegal, and fished in Mauritania
- Brown Grouper, brown-colored and often covered with golden stripes or spots from Senegal
- Bluespotted or Strawberry Grouper, with a red body covered with blue points fished in Senegal.

How to buy

Choose fresh Grouper that release a pleasant cucumber-like smell, and with shiny scales.
